That's because only people looking for jobs are using this website. You should try social media or asking Med Techs if you volunteer at a hospital or during your internship. Any job can be stressful. I would say the stress is above average but it depends on the size of the hospital you work at and staffing and environment. Many things can contribute to stress it just depends on how you handle it. For example, if the lab is always busy with lots of ER patients and traumas, then yes you will be stressed. However, if there is enough staff members to help you, then it will be less stressful, but if it's short staffed, that will add to the stress. How well you get along with your co-workers matter too. I would rather be busy with co-workers I love to work with then in a slow work environment with hostile co-workers, which in every lab there will be one you don't get along with. For the most part if you are full time you will only work 40 hours a week, unless you want overtime. Your social life is based on which shift you work. It's manageable, you will have a life. However, if you work overnight, you will struggle with sleep all the time unless your body is good at adjusting to sleeping at different times. Overnight people can still balance work/life, but their sleep cycles are usually messed up.
