I am pretty sure you will have to go back to school.
If you don't want to go back to school I think the only experience you have that the ASCP will recognize is your experience in flow cytometry/immunodiagnostics.
They offer a certification called QCYM, Qualification in cytometry.
And you would qaulify under route #3
Route 3: Baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university, AND eighteen months full time acceptable experience in cytometry (clinical*, veterinary, industrial, or research) in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory* within the last five years.
I have seen jobs offered for this in hospitals and reference labs for this.
My advice though instead of enrolling in college, contact the NAACLS and get a list of their internship programs in the area you are moving too. Since you hold a bachelors in science you can apply directly to these hospital based programs and in 6 months-1 year you will have the requirements met to take the MLS(ASCP) exam.
You can also think of this 6 month - 1 year as a job interview because most students get hired at the place they do their internship.
So to sum it up.....Apply to ASCP and get your QCYM and see if you can land a flow cytometry job somewhere. OR...contact NAACLS and apply directly to the hospital based internship program and do 6-10 months of school and be able to get a job anywhere as a MLS>
