Thanks for the very informative input. I had a look at the MT ASCPi requirements and they require training/experience in Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry , Hematology, and Microbiology in all the routes. All my work experience has been in Microbiology although I did courses in those other required areas as part of my degree requirement. So, is classroom courses acceptable in lieu of work experience in those other areas i.e. Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology?.
Hi, I think you might also need visascreen if you apply for H1b visa to work as a Medical Technologist. I am eligible for ASCP(microbiology) as i have masters and 6 months experience in US but i am not eligible for visascreen as all my education and experience is in Microbiology.
