I haven't taken the test yet, but I have seen other posts on this forum that said you need to know that mecA encodes an alternate form of penicillin binding protein (called PBP2) which prevents binding of the antibiotic.
could anyone weigh in on the vancomycin resistance questions? I've seen on the forum that you need to know vanA, vanB, vanC, etc., but was anyone asked the specific differences between those? That wasn't covered much in Lela & I'm not sure where to look for that.
