I don't think it was too hard! They are the only school I applied to. When I first called to get information about the program earlier in the year, they told me the admission rate was something like 40%, so I was worried but TTUHSC was the only feasible option for me as I didn't want to move nor did I want to do a 2 year program. The phone interview was more of a discussion and felt like they wanted to get to know what kind of student I was more than what experiences I had. They also made sure I had a firm understanding of what a CLS does on a day to day basis. I have a Master's degree in a science field, and a few years of full-time experience working in research and clinical labs. My grades were decent (3.5 science GPA, 3.9 grad school GPA). I interviewed in mid-May and got my decision letter last week, so about a month of anxiously waiting! I'm so excited to buy my textbooks lol :)
Good luck to you! I'll try to remember to come back and give you my opinion once I'm started in the program!
Hello, Lindsay. I was curious to know what you thought of the program so far. I have a similar background to yours (Master's in Biology, GPA >3.5), and I'm currently working as a research assistant. I'm wanting to shift to a clinical laboratory, and I've heard good things so far about Texas Tech's program. However, one criticism I have heard is a potential lack of field exposure (connections, etc..) due to the majority of classes being online. Do you have an opinion on this matter?
Thanks!
