I see lots of hate for the profession on this forum: nurses make more than MTs, nurses and doctors treat MTs like crap, it's stressful, etc. etc. I'm an adult student getting the last of my gen. ed. courses before I transfer to Rush University and get a B.S. in Clinical Lab Science. I'm sick of not having a career and working crappy retail jobs for minimum wage and that's what will continue to happen if I don't make this degree work. I want to know my efforts aren't in vain, because I've come to really like chemistry and biology. What are the best parts of this profession? (Please don't tell me to get a different degree, it's not helpful).
Also, if you live in the Chicago area, please tell me about where you work, and if you're a Rush graduate I'd love to know how difficult their program really is. It looks very difficult because you do 14 credit hours each quarter, not semester.
