If anyone wants more details, please let me know. Meanwhile, I've looked into the job openings in western Washington and what technologist certifications they request/require. Heres a summary: - University of Washington (UW) Medical (25000 employees): "ASCP or equivalent" - Group Health (25 primary care offices, 1100+ physicians, 600 000 residents served): any CLIA cert (HHS, HEW, AAB, ASCP, AMT) - LabCorp (34 000 employees worldwide): any CLIA cert (HHS, HEW, AAB, ASCP, AMT) - Quest Diagnostics: any CLIA cert - Franciscan Health System, Catholic Services (13 hospitals, 13000 employees): HHS or ASCP. - Multi-Care (5 major hospitals and 9100 employees): ASCP only. - Various other labs in the area.... range from any CLIA cert to just AAB and ASCP. I have seen a few that specifically state that AMT certification is not considered equivalent to ASCP, but never seen the same with AAB or older certs like HEW/HHS. So it looks like ASCP is accepted at most places in WA, and outside of Multicare, AAB is as well, but AMT is excluded more often than you'd expect.
hi i have a BS degree as medical lab. technologist from Iraq.
