Absolutely not. You will literally get half the pay of 2 year RNs. You'll start 45-55k and cap in the 60s in the city. That's 20-26/hr starting, and maybe end in the 30s after 30 years experience.
It's absolutely not worth it. You'll be treated like dirt, have fewer benefits than the housekeeping staff, and have no advancement opportunities. You'll also have to pay for CE credits. Don't expect performance bonuses or sign on bonuses. Med Techs are treated as the lowest of the low.
NY is licensed, so you'll have to pay ~400-500 for a NYS license.
