Hello everyone,
I just graduated with a bachelor in Biology from Western University, and I'm interested in pursuing this field. I am Canadian living in Ontario. But I'm pretty clueless at the moment and I have started doing research. I've got a lot of questions, so please bear with me and thank you very much for any help.
I'm interested in becoming a medical lab technologist, not a lab assistant. I heard that both jobs are similar, but technologists make more money.
So on to my questions:
1) I read that you can apply for this field straight from high school? How does having further education with a bachelor in Biology help me?
2) What certification do I need in order to become a Medical technologist? How many years of schooling would I need?
3) What is the difference in education programs for becoming a technologist rather than a technician?
4) What are some Canadian Universities that offer this program?
5) If you have any tips for a fresh clueless graduate, feel free to comment. I'm sure anything will help me :)
Thank you for reading, I will continue to do further research while keeping a close eye on this forum.
