Hello! I graduated from a Med. Tech School from Texas and am certified by ASCP as MLS. I've worked in the lab as a Med. Tech for 2 and a half year. I recently moved to California and wanted to know how to get a license for MT/CLS in California. I followed the links provided earlier in this forum but I am still confused. My internship was for 6 months which is less than a year as required by CA department of Public Health but my work experience is 2 and half year. However I did not work as a generalist (no blood bank/micro).
1)So do I qualify for the license?
2)If I somehow qualify, do I've to take the ASCP exam for CA license again. I took the same test when I sat for MLS certification. I believe so because the ASCP book for both the tests are the same.
I tried to contact CA DPH but nobody answers. I leave voice messages and nobody replies. I send emails and they send me links. I am totally lost. If anybody could point me to right direction, I'd be grateful.
Thank You.
