So just a background on myself. I am a licensed MLT in the United States Navy and I am starting to think about my future and how I want to become an MT. I understand that since I have the ASCP MLT certifcation, I can finish my Bachelors of Science degree and will be able to challenge the ASCP MT exam. My question is, will any B.S. do or would I have to follow through with a MLS/CLS program? A coworker of mine told me it would be a waste of money finishing a MLS/CLS program since I am already an MLT in the military with 4+ years of experience where I could just do a B.S. in Public Health that would be faster and in the end I would still qualify to take the ASCP MT exam. I just want to make sure this is true before I make any final decisions when to commiting to a school. I already have my A.S. in Health Science Laboratory Technology through GWU where I did my MLT program.
