Hi, I am interested in becoming an MT, but I have some questions. I got a BS in Earth Science in 2010, and have spent the last 3 years doing environmental laboratory testing, but want a change. I was originally thinking that the best way to get an MT cert is to go into an MLT program and then work for a few years and apply for the MLS(ASCP) cert through Route 2. My degree didn't require all the bio or chem credits that I have to get, and am wondering if I can take those at the tech school in addition to my MLT program? Will ASCP accept those credits? The only MT program around here is one that I don't think I will get into, and it will be 3 years of classes to even complete. I read that some people had applied to online programs. Would that be a better option than the MLT program? I am skeptical of online degree programs and want to make sure they are legit. Unfortunately, my motto for my first degree was to get a degree with minimal effort, so my grades really took a toll, and I am not even sure I can qualify for those programs. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!
