They also suggested I work outside California for at least a year. I followed their guidance (tried to get in accredited schools but it took a year already and I probably wasn't competitive enough, so I took the MLS(ASCPi) and applied for several jobs outside Cali, and had tonss of offers from different states.
Hello, Lex in Houston, Texas! I am reading all your comments, and I’m in the same situation. I moved here in California three months ago. I graduated BS Medical Technology here in the Philippines and got only 6 mos internship. I passed both my MT PRC license in the Philippines and also an ASCPi passer. I also worked as a MT generalist in the Philippines for 6 mos before I moved here in California. I tried to apply at LFS CDPH for a CLS license but got rejected due to my insufficient training/experience which is supposed to be 1 yr . I just wanted ask how are you now? Were you able to apply now as a CLS here in California? I trying to weigh in my options if I’m going back to the Philippines and try to enroll again in my University for another 6 mos internship or move to another state and work for a year. Your respond will be much appreciated. THANK YOU!
