So I graduated with my BS in molecular/Cellular Bio back in may of 2017, and have been scouring Indeed, LinkedIn, and now Monster for any entry level lab position I can find. Trouble is nearly all of the "entry level" positions seem to require 1-5 years (no joke, I've seen numerous asking for up to 5 years) of prior professional lab experience. Now I have experience from my lab courses but that doesn't seem to get me the time of day. I've tried everything from expanding my search locals to lowering my requirements but I'm lucky just to get a no back from most of these. It's coming up on a year now and I'm no closer to getting a job in my field than the day I graduated. What am I doing wrong or what else could I be doing. I love the science of biology and have since I was a kid, and it's killing me to be stopped right at the edge of making it my life.
