Hello jeiblue it seems we are in the same boat, I too am a 1996 Med Tech graduate with a PRC license. Here are the steps to get a CA license : 1) Take the ASCPi exam... we need only our PRC number to apply, I believe they will look it up. 2) Apply for California MLS license (State license). you will need : a) passed ASCPi b) Transcript assessment (they only accept NACES and AICE assessment) c) mailed transcript direct from your school d) letter from hospital where you had your internship / externship mailed direct (dapat minimum 1 year) e) pass the CA law quiz archive.cdph.ca.gov/programs/lfs/Pages/ClinicalLaboratoryScientist.aspx If you have any questions feel free to message me.... I too am still starting on all this steps, with the additional steps of getting Visa Screen (since I am Canadian) and acquiring TN status. Good luck to us!
Hi there dojm. I saw your post. I'm interested to take the ascpi too.... can you share the link how you apply with the prc number? your response will be a great help. Thank you
