It has been well established that, in general, that homosexual men make less than heterosexual men and homosexual women make more than heterosexual women in their respective careers. In addition, most jobs in the US still discriminate against homosexual regardless of gender. At my last assignment in Florida, I was appalled when the management denied a gay man time off at Valentine's Day despite no one else on the shift requesting time off during that week, while scheduling all of the heterosexuals on the shift off on this day. Horrified, I volunteered to switch shifts to cover that day only to have the manager state it wasn't really necessary and refused to approve the change in schedule. Has anyone seen such blatant discrimination in the their clinical lab before?
