Hey Carlos,
I took the exam almost three years ago. I failed the first time and passed on the second. The first time I barely studied and just missed passing. The second time, I studied for about six weeks prior to the exam, about an hour a day, sometimes more if I had the chance. The resources I used most heavily were the chemistry section of Clinical Laboratory Science Review: A Bottom Line Approach Third Edition and the Lab CE simulator. I also tried some of the questions from the green BOC question book, but I found those questions discouraging and not representative of what was on the exam. I took the exam outline from ASCP and wrote notes and study cards for each of the sections. I found that this exam was mostly recall, not necessarily application.
Good luck!
