You would need a license to practice as a Public Health Microbiologist, or as a Microbiology specialist CLS. But you can be a Microbiologist in a research or industry laboratory with enough experience and in the right position. It isn't clinical work, but super fun.. I worked in a Microbiology lab a couple years ago and it was awesome.
