Hello, I'm currently Phd student in biology in Houston, and I'm interested in the MLS program. Could anyone kindly tell me which Houston school offer this program for working people? I mean can take the course at night and weekend, cause I need to work at the same time to make money for tuition. And another question is that I'm international student. Do the hospital or lab accept people who are not US citizen or greencard holder? Is it difficult to find MLS job using an OPT? Thanks a lot for the help.
Almost no MT job these days will sponsor you or hire on OPT the only possible chance is if you find a job in the complete stix. Very remote areas in Texas still offer this opportunity because noone wants to live in these small towns. If you have PHd in Biology and become a medtech you seriously wasted your time getting so much schooling. Medtech is not well respected. It is a thankless job and half of coworkers are looking for other options.UTMB offers online classes but you must already have your MLT degree to do this. Medtech school is 100% in or out, there is no night and weekend program because you need tons of labs and the equivalent of one year of daily clinical internship.
