I am an MLT and chose to be certified via AMT rather than ASCP. I had many fellow students and even my instructor question my decision to go with AMT. To let you all know... I do not regret it! I have had no issues getting a job being AMT certified. ALL states but New York will recognize the AMT certification. It is much cheaper and does not have the ridiculous wait that ASCP makes you go through! I am about to take my MT exam through the alternate route and have decided once again to go with AMT rather than ASCP
